De-clutter: Not just a quick tidy up! Throw out or place into storage anything that is not of extreme personal or financial value, or has not been used in six months. Create the impression that your apartment has plenty of space.
Odd jobs: Fix that broken tile, oil the door, get a glazier in to repair the cracked window and clean stained baths or basins. First impressions count! Lucas Real Estate’s reliable tradesmen will happily get the job done for you if you wish.
Paint only if necessary: There is no need to paint unless there is severe scuffing or small rooms need to be lifted with a lighter shade. Simply remove any peeling paint and repair or replace any peeling wallpaper.
Clean: Windows, showers, baths, taps, benches and floors should sparkle. Lucas Real Estate will happily arrange an inexpensive commercial cleaner to do the job for you if you wish. Make sure you air the apartment prior to Open for Inspections to remove cleaning smells. Use light essential oils to mask smells if need be!
Don’t Overdo It: Resist the temptation to go overboard with new carpets, kitchen or bathroom fixtures unless the existing ones are dated or in disrepair.
