As part of the Lucas Group, RES by Mirvac is an integral component to the team. Today we’re joined by RES by Mirvac Property Consultant Kristen Basile. You’ve probably seen Kristen on our Facebook Lives and across social media and this is your chance to get to know her a little better!
Read on as Kristen shares with us what drives her passion for Real Estate and an insight into working with apartments as well as land estates across Victoria.
Why did you choose a career in Real Estate?
My passion for Real Estate started at a very young age. My family involved me in the process of buying and renovating our family homes and we spent many weekends inspecting properties. Having worked in Hospitality growing up, I knew I wanted a career where I can work closely with clients and meet new people. Another passion of mine is interior design and styling. One day my dream would be to renovate a property of my own! Real Estate is a great mix of all my interests and is truly the perfect fit for me.
What do you love most about your job?
I love that no two days are the same, it’s always different. We’re constantly learning and growing together as a team and as an individual. I really enjoy meeting new people, getting to know them and being part of such a big and important time in their lives. I love following the market trends and updates which allows me to give educated advice and help clients on their journey.
Do you only work with properties in Docklands? What other areas are involved?
I work in the sales team, alongside Mia and Jenna in the Yarra’s Edge precinct in Docklands. We sell both apartments and townhouses along the river’s edge. I’m constantly in awe of the views and the great community here. It really makes it a wonderful place to work and live!

Outside of Docklands, I’m also working with owners and prospective purchasers in Quay West. Quay West is located right on the promenade in Southbank. A luxury 5-star hotel managed by Jackie and her incredible team at Accor. I love this development; it suits both owner-occupiers and investors. It has great facilities and investment options, and it’s perfectly located in Melbourne’s arts precinct.

I’m also working on a couple of exciting projects in the suburbs. First off is Mirvac’s new development, Smiths Lane in Clyde North. It will have a town centre, sporting grounds and facilities, plenty of parkland and Clyde Grammar school – that’s just some of what’s planned. We expect the first occupants to start moving into their new homes around mid-2021. I look forward to helping them along their journey and seeing this wonderful new community come to life.

Another new Mirvac development I’m currently working on is Olivine in Donnybrook. I’m working with investors who are planning to lease or sell their homes once the building is complete. It has been great watching each stage of the development come to life. There are now over 60 homes occupied by residents and you can already feel the sense of community here. It already has so much to offer with Hume Anglican Grammar school, Gumnut Park and Shared Cup Café officially open. I love the great conversations I have whether it’s speaking to a first home buyer building their first family home, downsizers on the next chapter of their lives, or an investor expanding their portfolio.

Lastly, how has it been for you working from home in lockdown?
I have definitely missed the team and running into all the lovely Yarra’s Edge residents along the Esplanade, but we have really stayed connected with our team catch-ups and cooking classes. I have found that keeping in touch with others and going for a walk to break up the workday has been very helpful during this time.
