FUN FILLED WEEKEND IDEAS!
FUN FILLED WEEKEND IDEAS!

Anyone who knows me will tell you I am always on the go and that’s exactly how I like it. Whereas deciding what to do or where to go can be half the battle in actually making plans. Well, if you are like me and looking for a new experience to fill in your next day off here are a few ideas to kick you off.

Melbourne’s world-class culinary scene
The obvious is immersing yourself into Melbourne’s world-class culinary scene, no matter if it is a quick bite between activities or a long dinner with friends you should never have to settle for less than the best. You never know if the cities best pie is around the corner hidden in a Melbourne laneway or a funky bar through a secret entrance in a pizza shop (true story). Sites like Broadsheet are always across every new venue no matter the occasion, so I suggest a quick visit to them if you know what area you are heading to or maybe you are more like me and plan around the food.

Melbourne International Film Festival
A great way to fill in some time on one of many wet and miserable winter days is to go to the movies, but not just your average cinema experience because once a year from 5th – 15th of August the city hosts the Melbourne International Film Festival which is one of the oldest film festivals in the Southern hemisphere. There is everything from the weird to the wonderful to choose from but just a warning from experience you don’t always get what you are expecting, happy picking!

Local Farmers Markets
If you are looking to venture slightly outside the city and lose track of time, then why not visit one of the many farmer's markets. Don’t worry you don’t have to pack the car and head to rural Victoria as there are plenty nearby with regular spots including Carlton North, Coburg, Albert Park and the Alphington markets all bringing something unique to the table, literally. This is great for any age and any group size and depending on the day you will experience different foods, crafts, demonstrations and sometimes even some farm animals for the kids.

There is so much to do and so much of it is in your own backyard, so I hope this helps when you wake up on a lazy Sunday morning and think to yourself what to do today. If you see me around, feel free to tap me on the shoulder and ask for a recommendation or call me anytime. Have fun!
